The best part: when your model changes, so do your construction documents. Draw plans, elevations, sections, build details… anything you need to start the build.
Everyone on your team - from contractors to engineers - can learn SketchUp. SketchUp is hands-down the most intuitive 3D drawing tool on the planet. Stop wasting time learning complicated computer programs. Modeling Framing in Your SketchUp Models with House Builder and 1001Bit Tools Detect clashes, help owners evaluate design options, and get sign-off before materials are ordered. Prevent costly revisions by experiencing projects in mixed reality before you start construction. Simplify the build by thinking through and communicating your projects in 3D with SketchUp. Every minute you spend validating details and creating clear 3D drawings to explain them saves time and money in rework and delays. Nothing beats a 3D model for visualizing complex site conditions, structural connections, and building systems.

Thanks Guy, I will definitely look into it.Use 3D construction modeling software from SketchUp to prevent rework, coordinate more effectively, and build it right the first time. Frank, Take a look to Skalp4SketchUp to create filled sections from your sketchup models.

Frank, From your description, it seems like you should be working with Pro in lieu of Make, particularly if you are creating residential design projects on a commercial fee basis.Ĭan you offer any advice for downloading this program. Plugins appropriate for residential architecture Extensions. Take a look to Skalp4SketchUp to create filled sections from your sketchup models. I previously migrated this and many other older plug ins to SU and this extension continues to function acceptably on my Win 7 OS. This older plug in was developed by Didier Bur for SU version 5 so no guarantee on how well this will play with your version of Make. House Builder seems ideal! I have tried various approaches to download the program and all have been unsuccessful. Specific to your inquiry, you may want to look at House Builder or just conduct a search of the Extensions Warehouse. That being said, a vast amount of plug ins are available to facilitate developing SketchUp models.

The software is relatively affordable for professional users and certain salient features that expand productivity are only available in the Pro version.

I could really use some good advice in selecting one or more plugins.įrom your description, it seems like you should be working with Pro in lieu of Make, particularly if you are creating residential design projects on a commercial fee basis. I have looked into this but I am uncertain about which plugin would serve my needs. Specifically I am looking for a plugin for residential framing including: drawing walls, floor, rafters, foundations, doors, windows, etc.
